rationalizing radical expressions

Rationalizing is the process of getting rid of all the radicals that are in the denominator (bottom number) of a fraction. To rationalize, simplify the radicals and fractions if necessary, and then multiply both the top and bottom by a radical that will get rid of the radical in the denominator.
