Recent years have seen a surge in the popularity of ergonomically designed computer peripherals, such as keyboards and mice, which are marketed as reducing strain and preventing injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome. However, the effectiveness of these devices is still a matter of debate. A six-month study by Dr. Emily R. Thompson in 2020 compared the impact of traditional and ergonomic keyboards on users' comfort and typing speed. Surprisingly, the study revealed no significant difference in the occurrence of strain-related symptoms or typing efficiency between the two groups.
