Can I use Magoosh to prepare for the digital SAT?
Yes! The SAT officially went digital in 2024. Our video lessons, practice questions, and practice tests have been updated accordingly to reflect what you'll see on test day.
Do I need to have taken the test before?
Nope! Previously having taken the test is not required. Many of our students are first-time SAT test-takers, so if you're ready to start studying now, you should go ahead and sign up! Our lessons will teach you everything you need to know about the SAT, and our instructors go in-depth on topics you may not have fully covered in your classes.
Who should use Magoosh?
Anyone can use Magoosh! Our prep works best for students who fall into one of the following categories:
- Busy families: those who don't have the time or flexibility in their schedule for in person tutoring.
- Self-studiers: students who prefer to prep at their own pace with tutoring support as needed.
- Video-lovers: students who learn better by watching videos than by reading. Most Magoosh SAT practice questions have a video explanation teaching you how to solve it.
How does the score guarantee work?
We guarantee after completing our premium program, you'll see a 100 point increase over your old scores (as long as you scored a 1350 or below), or we'll give you all of your money back. Click here for details.

Do you offer essay grading?
While Magoosh doesn’t grade your practice essays for you, we do offer assistance and SAT writing test strategies via email.
Does Magoosh SAT Prep cover SAT Subject Tests?
We do not currently have any subject test products, so the SAT package is only for the general SAT. We recommend the preparing for subject tests using the College Board's free practice materials.
How close is the material to the actual SAT?
Extremely close. Our instructors use similar methods as the test makers to develop content, and our practice questions are regularly reviewed by experienced SAT experts to match the style and difficulty of official test questions. Unlike printed test prep books, we're able to continuously update our materials based on feedback and performance data from thousands of students. We rank the questions by difficulty to help you master the basics and progress towards your target score.
Do you have resources or prep offerings for educators?
Yes! You can visit our Educators page to learn more.
